I would recommend Stride Orthotics to anybody. Mhairi identified the cause of my pain when everybody else failed. After years of suffering with a recurrent injury I now live pain free. Thank you, Helen M. ”

A bursa is a fluid filled sack found around joints and serves the purpose of protecting the joint from damage.  Bursitis is inflammation of the bursa and is the result of increased strain to the joint or the muscles surrounding the joint.

There are numerous causes:

  • Poor foot biomechanics, often an over-pronated foot
  • High impact sports
  • Sudden increase in the intensity of exercise
  • Leg length difference (this is most often misdiagnosed)

  • Rest to reduce inflammation.
  • Orthotics to improve shock absorption and prevent strain on the joint.

Incorrect alignment of the foot will lead to abnormal muscle function around the knee, hip and lower back.

There are numerous reasons for back pain:

  • Poor foot posture is the most common
  • Leg length discrepancy
  • Weak hamstring tendons cause the pelvis to tilt forward and result in lower back pain
  • Leg length difference (often missed)

Compression of either the sciatic nerve itself or of one of the nerves which gives rise to the sciatic nerve.

You may feel pain in the lower back, buttock and lateral (outside) of the leg from the hip to the foot.  There are numerous causes of sciatica.  Leg length difference, rotated pelvis and muscle strains can either cause or contribute to the condition.

  • It is important to keep mildly active
  • Foot Orthotics reduce any additional muscle strain which may otherwise irritate the nerve further.

There are numerous causes for pain here although it is often caused by undiagnosed leg length difference and poor foot position.

  • Insoles to restore foot function and a raise to balance the pelvis
